Dr. Aleksandr Yelenskiy, M.D.

Alex Yelenskiy moved to the USA from Belarus at the age of 4. He was raised in Los Angeles, California where he grew up playing violin and was captain of his high school table tennis club. In high school, he also volunteered to tutor kids who otherwise could not afford the help. In college at UCLA, Dr. Yelenskiy was continually top of his class academically and participated in cutting-edge research.

He graduated top of his medical school class from the prestigious University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. During his ophthalmology residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Dr. Yelenskiy traveled to various cities in Louisiana and Mississippi, including those affected by Hurricane Katrina, to provide high level ophthalmic care to those in need. He was also awarded the Tulane C.S. O’Brien Resident Research Award in honor of his outstanding research pursuits. Dr. Yelenskiy also completed a Glaucoma fellowship at the world-renowned Stein and Doheny Eye Institute at UCLA. During his fellowship, he published further research on the most recent advances in glaucoma and performed some of the most advanced glaucoma surgeries.
